His musical training is summarized in 17 years of official studies, culminating in higher studies of harmony, counterpoint, fugue and composition between the Conservatories of Barcelona and Munich. Later he began to compose music, beginning with the guitar methods and composing musical works in 1961. His facet as a composer alternated with his work as a soloist.

In his own words „there is very little music written for guitar and orchestra compared to all that is written for piano and orchestra or violin and orchestra“.

He is the author of the PIÑERO Classical Guitar Method, books with about 100 original studies for guitar. and the PIÑERO Accompaniment Method. of traditional rhythms. Each of these methods is made up of four books. All the methods have been translated into German and the first into English.

In his concerts, he has always caused the admiration of different audiences by playing the Spanish classical guitar with his right hand and with his left hand indifferently, offering different sounds: the yolk (with the right hand), part of the Renaissance repertoire and the first Baroque period, or the fingernail (with the left hand), for the Baroque, Neoclassical, Romantic and Contemporary. He is the only concert performer in the history of classical Spanish guitar to offer both schools in a single concert, the bud cultivated among others by Francisco Tárrega, Fernando Sor, Miguel de Fuenllana etc. and the nail, also cultivated among others by Andrés Segovia, Narciso Yepes, Miguel Llobet and others.

Its objective is to create a repertoire for young artists and enrich the heritage of classical guitar.

In 2014 Ángel G. Piñero created a classical guitar competition for young Spanish and foreign talents between the ages of 18 and 35.

It promotes the Spanish Classical Guitar around the world through the Ángel G. Piñero Classical Guitar Association, a non-profit association, with the holding of the “Ángel G. Piñero” International Classical Guitar Competition, which is held every years.

This year, the VIII International Classical Guitar Competition will be held on July 2, 2021 via the internet due to the coronavirus pandemic, and the I International Classical Guitar and String Quartet Competition “Ángel G. Piñero”, on May 22, 2021 , also via the internet due to the coronavirus. This Association aims to spread the guitar around the world and support young people who are starting their careers.
